My Planner

  • Should it show grade data

    • Yes. Just use schedule planner if not

  • Show section information in popup or dropdown?

    • Popup is unnecessary

  • Where to put the grade data

    • Below the sections?

    • On hover?

    • Add a toggle to show it?

    • Decision: below the sections - design task

  • Show filters

    • Filters are used to narrow down results and this has already been done by the time you get to my planner

  • Design for how to indicate which section is selected

    • Show in the overall card combo line

  • When a card is open, show all sections on the schedule outlined

  • Rules/logic

    • Can’t have multiple sections of the same class

    • Can’t overlap courses

    • Can’t add someone who’s now teaching next semester

  1. Ruhi’s 2nd Recent Searches Design
  2. Rohan’s “What’s New” Card shows up on the Dashboard
  3. My Planner should show Grade data underneath the sections (inside the card)
  4. No need for popup to see more section info (sorry hiranya)
  5. No filters (for now) in My Planner
  6. Rule #1: Only select 1 section of a course at a time
  7. Rule #2: Sections in RHS cannot overlap
  8. Rule #3: Can only add professors who are teaching sections in the upcoming semester
  9. Sections will be color-coded shades of purple (up to 10 courses)
  10. My Planner button at the top right, and add to planner by clicking the planner/bookmark icon
  11. The “select section” icon will be a radio button

Designers - My Planner mockups

Show grade/professor data underneath the sections of the my planner page
Indicate a section is selected (with the card closed) on the LHS
When a card is open, show all sections outlined on the RHS schedule (so you can see them overlap)
Show a mockup including Saturday/Sunday
Color Code (shades of purple) up to 10 selected sections
Find 10 shades of our purple that work in light mode and dark mode

🧠 Reflection

  • Long meeting again, but that’s mainly because I started at 7:15 and then asked for engineer updates. I should start those at 7:05

  • We did really well in covering how My Planner should work

  • I’m exhausted

  • A lot of enthusiasm from our newer members!

  • I made more executive decisions, but I hope I gauged perspectives before making my decision

  • Again, I will try to finalize discussion by 8:!5 to leave room for questions
