Email sent to Dr. Walker. Quick notes for everyone about the meeting with Dr. Newman: Dr. Newman has issues getting data from the university, has been pushing for a UT Dallas API for some time Dr. Walker would be interested in discussing our products as Dr. Newman believes our development process will lead us to creating tools that save significant time and money for the university Dr. Newman has connections at the Microsoft in Irving that he may be willing to leverage to help our engineers improve our process (either workshops or company visit. May ask to be put in contact for cloud support?) Dr. Newman believes that if our tools launch and address a demonstrable need within UT Dallas, that admin would have no issues adopting them as the standard set of tools that students are directed to when looking to degree plan, research classes, and more Dr. Newman expressed slight interest at Jupiter, but only as a long term initiative as sharepoint is currently in place for the SOC and ECS is also working to implement it Dr. Newman thinks it will be very difficult to reach an agreement to get data from the powers that be without FOIA. However, he believes anything is possible if we "work our way up the totem pole" and prove that our projects have real value (edited)

My primary goal for the coming weeks will be to work my way up as high as possible in the university, and hopefully establish connections with more powerful administrators ( @Eric send dude from council pls) that can be leveraged to hopefully accomplish two things: 1. Regular access to data via api or other machine readable format without needing to spend $$$ on FOIA 2. When products launch, create push from the top to include our projects in the ECS ecosystem - primarily through advising and orientation
