  •  Proposed new scheduling features for Planner

    • Charts vs table

      • Charts are more readable

      • Table could be color coded

      • Decision: Visualization always better

      • If we like the feature, we can refine UI

      • We like the idea of integrating Trends/Skedge into planner

      • Question: Why do we need this if Trends already exists?

        • Want user feedback on if users like snapshots of Trends vs using both as separate tools

      • Ragini: We could have a link in Trends to “add to plan” in Planner

        • Link to Trends, check professors for this course

        • In Trends, we can say “add to plan”

        • Team: Sections aren’t relevant for long term planning, the product doesn’t do this currently

      • Is one integrated product better?

      • Need to decide distinction between long term and short term degree planning

    • Can link into Trends with their URL schema, or even use their API

    • Mission of Planner

      • It’s a long-term degree planner

      • These features are targeting a short term schedule planning

      • Could have a future and long-term mode

      • How many plan upfront and how many plan each semester?

      • Value of Trends is in choosing professor, not choosing course

    • Add course to user’s cart

      • CourseBook has no API to do this

    • User interviews

      • most people want to see courses in Planner

      • they likely don’t know about Trends

      • So we could integrate trends data, with a link into Trends

    • Can Canva design the UI in 3 days or so
